Holiday and Food Activities (HAF)
The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme in Dorset is funded by the Department for Education and provides free, fun activities and healthy meals for children who receive benefits-related free school meals and attend school in the Dorset Council area. The programme also has discretionary places for children in care, those involved in resettlement programmes, or those referred by a school, family, or social worker. HAF activities run during the Easter, summer, and Christmas school holidays and include sports, creative workshops, outdoor education, and food nutrition sessions.
To apply, eligible families can request a holiday pass code by emailing Dorset Council with their child’s name, date of birth, and school. Once approved, they’ll receive a code to book free places on HAF activities throughout the year. If you don’t know your code or need to apply, contact the Holiday Activities Team at holidayactivities@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk or call 01305 221157. Many activities also accept fee-paying customers, so children not eligible for free school meals can still join for a fee
